ARK: Survival Evolved update 1.26 has been released on PS4, and its patch notes reveal a smattering of bug fixes for the game’s latest console patch. Want to know what to expect? Read the changelog below.
ARK v1.26 [PS4]
- Fixes an issue with skins not being awarded correctly for Achievements
- Fixes disconnection messages
- Fixes a problem where Players were not correctly displayed in the pause menu of a server
- Fixes a crash when using Camera
- Fixes paints not saving in single-player
- Fixes item notifications not working in Split Screen
It should be noted that, while the patch is designed to fix the problems listed above, a new one seems to have cropped up. For players who have received a Load Configuration Error since installing this update, the current advice from Studio Wildcard is to delete a few files on your system storage: Configuration, My Paintings and Local Profile. As a last resort, some have also found success deleting their saves or redownloading the game.
In case you’re wondering where the matching Xbox One bug fix update is, don’t expect it for the next couple of days. Unlike Sony, Microsoft does not certify patches on weekends. As a result, there will be a slight delay.
Even if a few new bugs have appeared in this update, its intention is still to address the bug fixes found in the most recent major patch . In terms of raw content, client v509 offered five new Dinos, new vehicles a new structure, hairstyles and more. Its goal was to offer console parity with the latest PC version of the game.
In the wake of E3, it’s been a pretty exciting week for followers of ARK: Survival Evolved. After two full years of early access, the game’s retail release date was recently announced to be Aug. 8 . Like most high-profile retail releases of the day, this one can be pre-ordered in a variety of standard and special editions. The basic build of the game will retail for $59.99 but diehard fans can scale the way up to a $159 Collector’s Edition. Perks include a book full of Dino dossiers, a necklace, a map, a poster and a complete soundtrack. If there’s enough interest, Wildcard has promised an extended run of the premium version.
In tradition with Wildcard’s partnership with Microsoft, ARK will also be supporting an Epic settings mode on the hardware maker’s latest console, the Xbox One X. As a part of the Play Anywhere program, ARK’s PC and Xbox One survivors will also be able to join the same multiplayer space.
ARK: Survival Evolved is available now on PC, Xbox One, PS4, OS X and Linux. If an additional PS4 update is needed, Sony is able to deploy a fast patch as necessary. Another major update will also launch next month. We’ll do our best to keep tabs on the situation.
