Adrian Chase is Prometheus, not Vigilante. In Arrow Season 5 episode 15, “Fighting Fire with Fire,” we finally learn Prometheus’ real identity, but Vigilante's remains a mystery. Adrian Chase was the name of Vigilante in the comics, but no episode has ever officially confirmed Chase is the masked shooter and we still don't know who Vigilante is. Later in the episode, Felicity makes her final decision about Helix and Susan Williams’ true colors are revealed.
RECAP: Arrow Season 5 episode 15, "Fighting Fire With Fire"
Adrian Chase steps down as district attorney to take some of the spotlight off Oliver and represent him in the impeachment trials. Oliver asks Felicity to make nice with Susan Williams after she and Thea hacked into her computer, causing her to lose her job because of plagiarism accusations. The Vigilante gears up for an attack on Oliver.
The impeachment trial gets off to a terrible start after multiple witnesses come to the stand making incriminating statements toward Oliver and Adrian. Oliver’s day only gets worse when The Vigilante attacks his limo. Thankfully, the police prevent him from finishing the job but we learn he has some sort of enhanced vision in his suit. Thea plots to blackmail a councilperson to sway the trial vote using the information Felicity got from Helix. Oliver visits Dr. Schwartz, who seems to know his Green Arrow alias, and she advices him to take a mental break.
Dinah Drake finds a small piece of Vigilante’s visor at the crime scene and calls it into Overwatch. As she leaves the scene, Adrian Chase approaches her and pretty much demands she give him the evidence. Then, Vigilante hits the streets but Prometheus interrupts him. Prometheus pushes him off a roof, takes his own mask off and reveals himself as Adrian Chase.
Wild Dog, Spartan, Mr. Terrific suit up to find Vigilante. When they do, he’s set up to assassinate Oliver at the Mayor’s press conference. Mr. Terrific's new ‘T-Spheres’ save them, but they still don't find out who Vigilante is. Oliver blames everything on Green Arrow at the press conference, saying he’s a cop killer and has failed the city. He’s very convincing and is not impeached as a result. In the flashbacks, Anatoly beats Gregor in a vote to become the leader of the Bratva by exposing his backdoor dealings with Kovar.
Susan Williams gets her job back and it’s kind of an unspoken acknowledgement that she knows Oliver is the Green Arrow, but she agrees not to expose him. Curtis’ husband, Paul, files for a divorce. Felicity joins Helix. Thea turns in her resignation. The episode ends with Adrian Chase forcefully confronting Susan williams about an exclusive story that is “life or death.”
