Get ready to change your weekend plans to play the biggest Assassin’s Creed game to date. Ubisoft recently announced that they are making Assassin’s Creed Odyssey free to play until the end of the week. The game will be completely free with no hidden costs. The free period will start on March 19 and end on March 23. A new trailer has also been made available which you can watch below.
Odyssey is quite big in size. In fact, its 61.30 GB on PC. Ubisoft have also allowed players to pre-load the game. Pre-load is now available on Epic Game Store, Uplay, and PS4. Xbox One and Steam users will have to download the game once the free period starts. Odyssey is free on every major platform, however for Xbox One gamers, the free period will be available only if you have an active Xbox Live Gold subscription.
If the free weekend wasn’t enough, Ubisoft also decided to give away Ezio’s Roman Set free to everyone who plays during the weekend. You can access the set using Ubisoft Club. It’s also a good time to buy Odyssey as Ubisoft is currently offering a 67 percent discount on every edition of the latest Assassin’s Creed. Currently, you can purchase Odyssey Standard Edition for only $19.20. Ultimate Edition (which gives two expansion packs plus Assassin Creed 3 Remastered) is also available for $39.60.
The free weekend does not include the Odyssey expansion packs. To play them you will have to buy the game along with the DLCs. You don’t have to worry about losing your progress, though, as any progress made during the free period will be carried over to the main game if you choose to buy it. We recommend that you play the free weekend first and if you like the game, then buy it. According to howlongtobeat, Odyssey along with two of its DLCs offers up to 170 hours of content. That’s money well spent.
