Assetto Corsa adds the legendary Le Mans winning Mazda 787B, the iconic first-generation Mazda MX-5 Miata and the brand-new Porsche 911 RSR to its roster. The vehicles will be available on PC first.
The long-awaited Assetto Corsa 1.13 Update featuring the 787B and Miata was first announced last year. However, when the developer rolled out is Porsche pack towards the end of the year, Update 1.13 was put on hold for a later date. Still, the update is definitely worth the wait – the 787B holds the distinct honor as the only Japanese effort, and the only Wankel rotary powered racing car, to win the prestigious endurance race. The Mazda 787 competed against the likes of the formidable Sauber C9 and Porsche 962c.
Meanwhile the NA Miata needs no introduction. The tiny roadster is known for its fun, communicative handling and its peppy engine despite its tiny size. Mazda's philosophy of "Jinba Ittai," which means horse and rider as one, made the original Miata an instant classic that remains a favorite among driving enthusiasts today.
Finally, owners of the Assetto Corsa Porsche Pack 3 will also receive the Porsche 911 RSR. The new 991 RSR was expected to arrive in the game in January, alongside its season debut at the 24 Hours of Daytona. Although its release was pushed back by two months, players should be happy they can now get behind the wheel of the new racecar. Porsche's mid-engine 911 is arguably one of the most revolutionary race cars in the sports car maker's motorsport history.
Today’s 1.13 update will require 174.5MB of space for PC. Stay tuned as we expect to learn more about the release schedule for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players in the days ahead.
