It’s already known that Attack on Titan Season 2 will be delayed so that there’s enough space between the anime and the ongoing manga , but a new report suggests that fans of the anime will be waiting until 2017 to watch the sophomore season.
According to SelectaVisión , a Spanish home video and streaming distributor -- via Crunchyroll -- the 2016 timeframe for the new anime isn't going to happen. Mision Tokyo , a Spanish-language site that reports on anime and manga, has indicated that the series will not be debuting this year and that SelectaVisión has their eyes on 2017 and hopes for January's winter season.
The saga of Attack on Titan Season 2 is well documented. It all began back in 2014 when Yūki Kaji (Eren), Yui Ishikawa (Mikasa), Marina Inoue (Armin) and director Tetsuro Araki revealed the initial release date back in November, during the opening of the first compilation movie.
Back in June 2015, when the second compilation movie was being released in Japan, the second compilation movie was supposed to include new extended footage at the end that would directly link to Attack on Titan Season 2.
While the reports and comments from SelectaVisión may be true, we are still waiting for an official announcement of Attack on Titan Season 2’s release date and will update the story when we learn more.
