A new leak has surfaced which claims that Avalanche Software has a new "Harry Potter" online role-playing game (RPG). This game is reportedly set to be another standalone development from Avalanche Software in collaboration with Warner Bros. Games and the Wizarding World franchise.
If the leak is accurate, it will be different from the "Hogwarts Legacy" series.
The good news is that this will not replace the current developments of the team behind the reported "Hogwarts Legacy 2."
'Harry Potter' Online RPG Leaks
ComicBook Gaming shared a new report that speculates on a new game Avalanche Software is developing, claiming that it will be a new "Harry Potter" online RPG.
The speculations came from the latest job listings that Avalanche Software has posted on Warner Bros. Discovery's career website, seeking various positions such as a lead designer for games, design director. Openings for the software engineering and product management departments were also spotted.
What was constant among these job listings is how the applicant will work on an "online multiplayer RPG" project which the company did not elaborate on, and this is something which the report found odd.
According to ComicBook Gaming, if Avalanche Software is looking for new staff to help on their work on the "Hogwarts Legacy" franchise, they would have indicated the game title on the listing.
However, the company chose to address this new game under development as an untitled "online multiplayer RPG," which led to speculations that it will revolve around a new "Harry Potter" game.
New Avalanche Software Online RPG Seeking Playtesters
X0XLEAK, a source for everything "Marvel Rivals," has also shared new information on this new development, saying that Avalanche Software is not only seeking team members but also playtesters who will preview the game.
Recently, the company has shared a survey behind this project, asking players if they prefer menu-based or lobby-based game lobbies.
The Avalanche Software survey also asked players about certain aspects or features that they want to see in an online RPG, including the ability to spectate, player profile customization, character customization, and a "sense of community."
'Hogwarts Legacy 2' Is Still Coming Alongside New RPG
Earlier this month, talks about "Hogwarts Legacy 2" also blew up, particularly as a new report from an insider claimed that Warner Bros. Games and Avalanche Software are not transforming the sequel into a live service game.
There were plans to make the next game a live service game, but fans have been protesting against it, going as far as to start a petition to block it.
The only thing that is sure for now is that "Hogwarts Legacy" is getting a sequel thanks to the success it found in its first release, capturing a massive fanbase as a game from the Wizarding World has long been absent from the industry.
Alongside Warner Bros.' announcement of a "Harry Potter" TV series on Max, the company also confirmed that content from the upcoming show will crossover with "Hogwarts Legacy 2" in the future.
