Dice dropped a new teaser trailer for the new Battlefield 1 , titled They Shall Not Pass. More details for the DLC will be released sometimes this week. The DLC is slated to drop in March. Check out the teaser trailer here:
In December, EA said in its blog post that the They Shall Not Pass expansion is set during the Battle of Verdun in France. In that battle, over 1 million shells were fired, which created walls of fire on the field of battle, which you see in the aftermath of the fighting in the concept art. Players will receive multiple new maps (no exact number as of yet) that will explore the landscape of the Battle of Verdun, including Fort Vaux and villages like Samogneux that was destroyed by the war.
Underground bunkers will also be added in this Battlefield 1 DLC. According to the DICE team, grenades, flamethrowers and poison gasses were used in those bunkers during fighting.
Finally, players will experience a war-torn map depicting the remnants of a forest riddled by relentless fighting on the battlefield. “Some 40 million artillery shells were fired over the course of the battle at Verdun, pulverizing the ground, turning the earth into a shattered lunar landscape,” said DICE.
Players with the Battlefield 1 Premium Pass will receive the They Shall Not Pass DLC, two weeks earlier than everyone else. The Premium Pass also offers three other expansions, priority server access, 20 new weapons, 14 free Superior Battlepacks, unique Dog Tags, and more. For $50, the Battlefield 1 Premium Pass could be worth the investment, especially for players that wish to receive the packs earlier than everyone else.
