Battlefield 2042, one of the most highly anticipated FPS games of 2021, is only a couple of weeks away. The game will be launched on all major platforms on November 19. If you want, you can play the title early by participating in the open beta. The developer of the game, DICE, has revealed when the beta will take place along with a new trailer, which you can watch below.
Open Beta Dates
Open Beta starts on October 6 and ends on October 9. However, only players who pre-ordered the game or have an active membership of EA Play can join the beta on October 6. Every other player can do so from October 7 to 9.
Pre-Load Date
Planning to join? You can pre-load the beta on October 5. We highly recommend that you set aside 100 GB of storage space. You don’t want to waste your time downloading the game during the beta period. DICE has revealed the new PC system requirements of the game as well. You can check out our previous article for more information.
About the Beta
The beta is going to be quite limited in scope. You can play only one mode, Conquest, and on only one map, Orbital. Orbital is the map where the rocket launch takes place. The same rocket you saw in the trailer above.
Only four Specialists will be available for players to try out. We have mentioned them along with their abilities below.
- Grappling Hook
- Nimble
- S21 Syrette Pistol
- Combat Surgeon
- SG-36 Sentry Gun
- Sentry Operator
- OV-P Recon Drone
- Movement Sensor
You can learn more about these Specialists via our previous article.
Battlefield 2042 is going to have some tough competition. Two other AAA FPS games are launching within the same time frame. Call of Duty Vanguard will release on November 5, while Halo Infinite on December 8.
