Apart from the new content coming from NetEase Games for "Marvel Rivals" Season 2, the team is also giving PC players a massive FPS boost to improve their overall experiences in the arena-based shooter.

This specific feature coming with the next season centers on a quality-of-life upgrade but is still an experimental feature exclusively for PCs.

While "Marvel Rivals" is widely revered as an excellent game, it is not flawless, and players have since complained about its massive use of a PC's memory that causes the game to crash every now and then.

'Marvel Rivals' FPS Improvements Coming This Season 2

The "Marvel Rivals" official X account is not only sharing the latest content coming to the game's next season, but the team has also addressed the upcoming improvements. The team explained that changes are coming to its Switch Shader Compilation Mode, which is pushing forth a new experimental feature for players.

Specifically, this new feature will focus on helping players with low memory allocation in their PC setups to still enjoy notable gaming experiences offered by "Marvel Rivals." This is because there had been various reports and complaints from gamers about the game crashing due to its massive memory usage.

The Switch Shader Compilation Mode will help reduce the memory usage of the game, and this could potentially help improve the many frames per second (FPS) concerns that gamers raised before.

It is known that, for PC setups that have 16GB of RAM and lower installed, there are significant FPS drop issues and other problems that occur during gameplay.

That being said, this experimental feature would also help in reducing the game's memory usage to avoid the infamous FPS drops, freezing screen or visual, and other issues caused by the RAM shortage.

What to Expect From This 'Marvel Rivals' FPS Feature?

According to the developers, this new Switch Shader Compilation Mode will only run when a player first enters the game after a download or a graphics driver update to help gamers launch the game smoothly.

Since this is still an experimental feature, NetEase Game warns that there may be several issues found with the Switch Shader Compilation Mode, including several frames seeing "abnormal" renders that will revert to their regular state.

Moreover, there may be a "stutter" on the first rendering of materials in every new match, but NetEase assures that these would stabilize and later offer a "smooth and continuous flow."

Users who have a CPU of 6 threads or fewer, having the Switch Shader Compilation Mode and AMD FSR3 Frame Generation may cause "additional stutters," according to the team.

Players who have 16GB of RAM and lower and those who previously experienced any performance issues are recommended to turn on this Switch Shader Compilation Mode once available.
