DICE just dropped the reveal trailer for the sixth chapter of Battlefield 5’s Tides of War. The next installment is called Into The Jungle and is set in the Pacific Theater, like the previous chapter. As the name suggests, it takes place deep in the jungles rather than the coastal region. Chapter 6 will launch on February 6 and will be available for free for all the players.
The massive update will come with a new Solomon Islands map. The design team of this map is also responsible for Battlefield 1’s Argonne Forest, so you can expect close quarters and tense combat. Conquest and Breakthrough game modes will be available on the new map. Other modes like Squad Conquest and Team Deathmatch will also be playable.
You can check out the reveal trailer below:
Several new weapons will be introduced in Chapter 6, like Type 11 LMG for Support Class, a hard-hitting M2 Carbine for Assault and the long-awaited M1A1 Bazooka rocket launcher. The previously delayed Shitotsubakurai Lunge Mine will also make an appearance.
Three new Elite specialists are also part of Chapter 6. The first of them is Misaki Yamashiro, a female Japanese commando who will be unlocked after reaching rank 40 before the chapter ends. The other two specialists, one from Japan and the other from the US, will be made available at a later date.
Battlefield 5 post-launch content has been strong since the base game released back in 2018. A few months ago, developers at DICE also confirmed that no new Battlefield game will be released before mid-2021. This means we can expect DICE to support BF5 for several more months. Battlefield 5 does not have any paid multiplayer expansion packs like its predecessors and has since adopted the live-service model of Fortnite and Apex Legends.
