Bandai Namco Entertainment has released a new trailer showcasing the Berserker Class for Bless Unleashed. The trailer highlights the different moves available to the class, and ends it with the game's tagline of "Make them Pray."
A trailer for the Ranger Class in Bless Unleashed was released a few weeks ago. The game has a total of five classes with the Mage, Priest, and Crusader also joining in with the Ranger and Berserker.
Developed by Neowiz and Round 8 Studios, Bless Unleashed is a free-to-play MMORPG to be released as a timed exclusive for Xbox One. The game should not to be confused with Bless Online, though both are developed by the same studio. The Bless Online development team did reveal last year that the two are separate games, but exist in the same universe. Bless Online is a PC game while Bless Unleashed is planned for Xbox One.
According to Round 8 Studios, Bless Unleashed was developed using lessons learned from Bless Online. The game was rebuilt to use Unreal Engine 4. The team at Round 8 decided to go for Unreal Engine 4, saying that the previous engine was already too old. The combat system in Bless Unleashed was also developed from the ground up, putting console players in mind.
Working on the combat system, the team looked at the classic MMORPG system and found out it was targeting-based and static. This did not allow for action-oriented or even agile combat and the developers knew that this would not be interesting for console players. The updated combat system was redesigned to allow for customized combo moves. This change also led to a different approach to skills. In traditional MMORPG, players generally choose skills that have fast cast times or hand out the most damage. For Bless Unleashed, developers wanted players to assess the current situation and make the appropriate decision in terms of which skills to pick up and use.
While developers did want to make a name change, the team ultimately decided to stick with Bless Unleashed given that there are similarities with Bless Online's universe. Bless Unleashed was first revealed to the public during the PAX West last year. Initial reactions to the game include appreciation for the combo system and the good graphics.
No official release date for Bless Unleashed has been set.
