A Borderlands 3 reveal may be coming in a few weeks during the Gearbox PAX East panel. This information comes from the description of the panel on the PAX East website.
The description of the panel is as follows: “This is your opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at Gearbox Software and Gearbox Publishing, along with the latest news and updates from the makers of Borderlands, Battleborn, Brothers in Arms, and more! We will have never-before-seen reveals, exclusives, and surprises, so don’t miss out!”
The key words here are “never-before-seen reveals.” While this is incredibly open-ended, it could mean there is a plan to reveal Borderlands 3. We know that the head of Gearbox, Randy Pitchford, has confirmed that the studio would be “starting soon” on Borderlands 3 back at PAX East 2016. If development started soon after PAX East 2016, there could easily be some kind of teaser trailer made to show off the progress of the game so far.
Outside of Borderlands, Gearbox’s reveals could be something much less exciting, like DLC for Battleborn. Here’s hoping it’s not that, but you never know.
As for other Borderlands 3 news, we already know there’s little chance the game will end up on the Nintendo Switch. According to Pitchford, Gearbox was in talks with Nintendo about working together, but talks fizzled out. It’s still possible a Switch version could be coming, but signs aren’t pointing that way just yet.
So what do you think? Do you hope Borderlands 3 is revealed at PAX East? What else would you like to see get announced by Gearbox? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
