Call of Duty: Warzone's Season 5 has already launched and Infinity Ward continues to dish out content for its successful battle royale game. The developer also made an announcement recently stating that Warzone will continue to evolve as future Call of Duty games are released. This means that the content from future Call of Duty games will eventually make their way into Warzone.
In an interview with GamesRadar+, Infinity Ward's design director Geoff Smith stated that Warzone was already designed as a self-contained product, which is capable of being heavily altered and can be used to introduce new content over time.
"Although Warzone is very closely tied to Modern Warfare, it was designed from the beginning as its own game," Smith explained in the interview. "As the game continues to be updated over time, it will evolve and become tied to other games in the Call of Duty universe."
Activision has yet to reveal the next Call of Duty game, which is rumored to be a Black Ops game titled Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Looking at Activision's history, it is surprising to see that the publisher hasn't announced this game by now. Activision is known for making early announcements, and since that hasn't happened for the upcoming CoD game, we assume that the publisher has a different marketing strategy this time around.
On a similar note, Call of Duty: Warzone's Season 5 has already launched and it has added a ton of content and fixes. The new Season has given players access to the Stadium, which is now ready to explore and fight in. The major highlights of Season 5 include:
- BR Duos
- BR Trios
- BR Quads
- BR Solos Buy Back (previously called BR Solos Stimulus)
- Blood Money Quads
- Mini Royale Trios (Fast-paced Battle Royale in condensed areas of Verdansk)
- Weapon inspect
- New loot items
- Weekly weapon rotation for Gulag
