There have been several rumors circling around regarding the next Call of Duty. Now it seems that a new Doritos promotion has confirmed the title of the next COD game, along with its possible release window.
The next Call of Duty game is reported to be titled Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The information was reported by a Twitter user, TheGamingRevolution.
This leak seems to tie up quite well with the previously leaked reports that claimed Call of Duty will take players back to a previous setting and time period. It is also rumored that the game will be heavily focusing on the Vietnam war. The game will also allow players to play not only from the US perspective, but also from South Vietnamese and Viet Cong viewpoints.
The Doritos promotion hasn't exactly revealed when the game is set to launch. However, some COD fans seemed to have calculated the release date for the upcoming and anticipated game.
According to the promotion, there will be a double XP promo that begins on October 5, offering players double XP throughout the year. A similar promo kicked off last year on October 1, 2019 ahead of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's launch. Modern Warfare launched later on October 25, 2019.
Even though it doesn't confirm that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will launch at the end of October, it seems highly likely.
It should also be noted that the current COVID scenario might very well push the game's launch into the future. The pandemic has already slowed down the development of many games and traditionally, Activision has always announced their upcoming games fairly early. This hasn't been the case with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.
Nonetheless, with so many leaks happening all around, it might be the time that Activision makes an official announcement with a brand-new trailer.
