Call Of Duty: WWII update 1.08 released today for PS4 and Xbox One. While there are no official patch notes, Sledgehammer confirmed its central purpose is to close out December’s Winter Siege holiday event .

“We’ve rolled out an update to end Winter Siege and Captain Butcher is heading out,” a tweet from the official Sledgehammer Games Twitter account reads. “You can still complete Orders in progress and open unopened Supply Drops, and the Winter Collection will still be available. However, Winter Collection Rewards will not.”

In other words, after installing update 1.08, players will be able to complete collections and any other Winter Siege challenges that haven’t yet finished, but all special gear not involved with those Siege collections will be off the market once the final loot has been cashed in. Unlike past updates that also included weapon tweaks, this one offers no change. As such, there’s no real need for patch notes.

The only minor additions to the experience we’ve found so far revolve around multiplayer playlists and Twitch Prime loot. For the former, there is now a Hardcore Kill Confirmed playlist available for skilled soldiers in need of a challenge. If you’ve maintained a subscription to Twitch Prime since the previous drop, you’ll also get one Epic Supply Drop Pack that guarantees one Epic item and one Rare Supply Drop. That’s not quite as helpful as the previous Twitch Prime promotion, but it’s still nice to have. If you’re an Amazon Prime subscriber, click here for more details on how to get your complimentary in-game goodies.

We’ll keep our eyes peeled for the patch notes if news arrives. For now, however, we don’t notice anything too drastic in the features department. The next significant round of fixes will likely arrive to supplement the release of the Resistance DLC that’s due on PS4 at the end of the month.

Call Of Duty: WWII is available now on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The update should be rolling out across all platforms and may require a restart to appear.

While it’s not a perfect game, Call Of Duty: WWII knows the expectations it has to meet and hits almost every single one of them fairly well.
  • Action-packed campaign
  • Traditional multiplayer at its best
  • A more welcoming Zombies mode
  • Predictable story
  • Small multiplayer maps
  • Post-launch server issues
