A new Call of Duty: WWII update is expected on Tuesday, and director Michael Condrey shared a post on Reddit to give players a heads up on what new content and changes are expected. The update will include a new event as well as some crucial bug fixes. Let’s get right into it:

The new Resistance Event is CoD’s second in-game event and it asks players to fight The Occupation from Jan. 23 through Feb. 27. Players that sign on during this period will receive special goods including a Resistance-themed supply drop every week, Double XP playlists, new free weapons, new game modes, as well as an all-new Resistance Division.

The Resistance Division will be free to all players. The class features a tactical knife loadout as well as an extra pistol attachment. The idea behind the Resistance Division’s design is a sneaky close-quarters expert most deadly at close range.

To unlock the new weapons, players must complete Special Order challenges during the Resistance event. Weapons include the Volkssturmgewehr, known as “People’s Assault Rifle” toward the end of Germany’s efforts in World War II. Cobbled together out of spare parts, the Volkssturmgewehr is a simplified rifle that reflected the collapse of Germany’s industrial capability. Next, the Orso SMG means “bear” in Italian and looks like quite the rapid-firing beast.

Game modes highlighted in the Resistance Event are Prop Hunt, Demolition, and Demolition XL. Prop Hunt is a fun limited-time game mode that challenges players to disguise themselves as everyday items (furniture, rubble, whatever) scattered across the map. The enemy team must track down their camouflaged opponent.

In Demolition, sometimes the only way to defeat a well-supplied enemy is to blow up their stash. The game mode will demand players to push the defenders and that dynamic could make the new Resistance Division a really popular class from the jump. Meanwhile, unlockable Resistance uniforms will encourage players to stick with the division for endless hours to come.

Finally, Condrey teases some of the bug fixes that will make its way in Tuesday’s update. Some of the key patches include a spectator bug fix for consoles as well as tweaks and changes to the health regen speed. Expect balances to select weapons as well.

The Call of Duty: WWII Resistance Event update will arrive tomorrow. Let us know what game mode you’re most excited to try in the comment section below:
