Crossout: Players Encouraged to Do More in Ranked Battles with New Rating System

Spring Mayhem Update
Spring Mayhem Update Targem Games

Crossout is a post-apocalyptic MMO where players use armored vehicles to destroy enemies in PvP or PvE combat. Its breakneck pace makes the title so much enjoyable but some still do not actively participate in helping their teams win. Thus, the dev team made changes to the rating system to encourage them to do more, especially in Ranked battles.

What Has Changed?

In the latest update for Crossout, entering battles is now completely free and no rating points are deducted just for participating. However, all of the leagues (or ranks) in the game, with the exception of Rust, are not safe anymore, meaning players could end up getting demoted if they don’t play effectively or are facing a losing streak.

After every battle, you will receive rating points based on the following:

  • The amount of enemies you destroyed.
  • How many times you helped destroy the enemy.
  • How many times you have captured the base.
  • How many times you have been destroyed by enemies.
  • Whether your team was able to win the battle.

The battle rating is taken into account during the calculation of the final rating for the leaderboard. Players who do not get a combat rating of zero will either go up in rank or remain in the same league up to “Golden.”

Now, the battle rating will not be recalculated if players are disconnected from the match either deliberately or connection issues. But this can only occur once every 18 hours. Those who keep on disconnecting for whatever reason get a zero rating for that match.

These changes are meant to make players more proactive when playing Crossout. Those are urged to continue fighting even when the match does not end in their favor because failing to do so could result in them losing rating points.
