Developer CD Projekt Red gave its fans a special treat today when it unveiled never before seen images of Cyberpunk 2077's sprawling environment and stunning game world. The latest batch of teaser images shows off the lights and heights of Night City - one of the game's major locations where we're guessing quite a lot of noteworthy events take place.
Unlike the usual style of releasing gameplay or teasing general plot concepts, this latest "unveiling" from CD Projekt Red doesn't really tell us anything new about the gameplay, the characters, or the game's overarching story. Instead, it seems the folks behind Cyberpunk 2077 wanted an excuse to show off the game's art - and boy are we glad they did.
The images were released on the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter page, which you can view below:
The latest image is an animated GIF that showcases the Night City's skyline. Captioned with the tags #CaptureCyberpunk and #PhotosFromNightCity, and with the Camera icon that shows up at the end, we can probably guess that the image was taken in-game, through Cyberpunk 2077's officially-confirmed Photo Mode.
The second image, released earlier, is a daytime video that shows off Night City's skyscrapers and the traffic of the future. Captioned "Hope you aren't afraid of heights" with the hashtag #Cyberpunk2077, this image shows Night City in the daytime in stark contrast the neon-rich environment seen at night.
Although these images don't really give us a lot to go on, they provide plenty of information between the lines. After all, looking into the game world of Cyberpunk 2077 gives fans some insight into the kind of environment and atmosphere that they're going to be walking into come launch.
Cyberpunk 2077 remains to be one of the most highly-anticipated games of 2019, and will probably continue to be well into next year for its April 2020 release date. After all, Cyberpunk 2077 is being developed by the same studio that brought the world The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which, to this day, is considered one of the masterpieces of modern video gaming.
Cyberpunk 2077 is planned for release on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Google Stadia.
