Halloween is just around the corner, so it only makes sense for Valve to prepare something for its hit game Dota 2. As expected, the studio will be celebrating the spooky night with new sets of items for at least nine heroes. Here is everything about it in a nutshell.

For starters, the new Dota 2 items will come in lieu of the Diretide event. In case you did not know, the latter refers to a popular event mode that the community loved thanks to its abundance of cosmetic items. Cameron_dev confirmed on Reddit that for this year, the game will not have a Halloween event. It is quite frustrating, but the studio is believed to be focusing on “matchmaking, player experience, and the Outlanders update.” However, it does not mean the developers do not have something special to celebrate the season.

The rarest treasure right now is none other than Dark Willow’s Saccharine Saboteur. It basically allows her to transform into an even bigger oversight. The mischievous fairy comes packed with the right Halloween mood, especially since it is complete with sweet treats, a pumpkin lantern, and an adorable kitten hiding in her witch hat.

What is more, the treasure is expected to arrive with different sets specifically designed for Tidehunter, Shadow Demon, Slardar, Jakiro, Storm Spirit, Viper, Faceless Void, and Clinkz. If you main some of these heroes, then there is no thinking twice about getting the treasure.

Perhaps a disappointing fact, though, is that the treasure will not arrive with Diretide as players anxiously anticipate The Outlanders update. All signs point toward a major shakeup with Outlanders, with the update promising the inclusion of two new Dota 2 heroes named Snapfire and Void Spirit.

The upcoming Outlanders patch is expected to arrive once the first Dota 2 Major called MDL Chengdu reaches its conclusion, which will be on November 24.
