There's one week left in the Dota 2 Spring Tour. In North America, things are about to get exciting. TSM is currently sitting at the top spot with six wins and zero losses. Tied for second are Quincy Crew and Evil Geniuses with five wins and one loss. Remember that for this region, there are only two slots offered for the upcoming Major.
There are three matches left and the last two are what count. Now we've talked about it a bit last time but that was before the EG vs. TSM match. Let's take another look at what's going to happen.
A TSM Win
The first of the last two matches is QC vs. TSM. If TSM wins, they are guaranteed a place in the Major. This puts QC in a 5-2 standing. Now the last match is EG vs. Team DogChamp. If EG wins, which many expect, they secure the second slot. If DogChamp wins, we'll be headed to a tiebreaker between EG and QC.
A TSM Loss
Let's say QC manages to get a victory against TSM. That would give the two teams a 6-1 standing. If this happens, the pressure is on EG. If EG loses, TSM and QC immediately head to the Major with no need for a tiebreaker.
Of course, if EG wins, it’s a three-way tie between TSM, QC, and EG with each team carrying a 6–1 standing. We’re sure a lot of fans in the region are hoping this happens. After all, that means more matches.
Still at Fourth
If you were following the North American Dota 2 scene last season or even the previous year, you probably know that there were four teams vying for the top spot. The last spot has always been 4 Zoomers. This has been happening in previous seasons and it’s no different this season.
There is still one season left before the next TI and it would be exciting to know if 4 Zoomers manages to break the top three for the region.
What about you? What are your thoughts on the North American Dota 2 scene?
