Bandai Namco had already confirmed Goku Black for Dragon Ball FighterZ (first through a leaked Japanese magazine and then through an official trailer), and now Bandai Namco released a gameplay trailer for the Dragon Ball Super villain in his own trailer.
Take a look at Goku Black’s gameplay trailer for Dragon Ball FighterZ below.
The Dragon Ball FighterZ trailer that debuted during Jump Festa 2017 gave fans a hint of the story within the new fighting game as well as the reveal of Goku Black, Beerus and Hit.
However, this new gameplay trailer focuses solely on Goku Black and his unique abilities. Goku Black goes into battle with his signature energy blade, giving the villain a little more reach than if he just used his fists. He also performs a Kamehameha, which brings out Zamasu to hold the recipient in place. At one point during the trailer, Goku Black and Zamasu combine their power to unleash a large energy ball from the air.
Another move allows Goku Black to cut his own hand with an energy blade to form an energy scythe, which sends the opponent into the air and provides an opportunity for a combo. It looks like this technique can be a parry as well.
Like Goku, Vegeta and the other Saiyans, Goku Black goes into battle already transformed, but unlike them he transforms into his Super Saiyan Rose form. According to Bandai Namco’s press release, “Super Saiyan Rose is the Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan transformation of a Saiyan who is an actual deity.”
With the release of Dragon Ball FighterZ only weeks away, expect more gameplay trailers from Bandai Namco. Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Goku, Hit and Beerus have yet to receive their gameplay trailers so fans can expect those soon.
Dragon Ball FighterZ releases for PS4, Xbox One and PC Jan. 26.
