For some people, a video game about fishing may not be that exciting. If Team17 and Black Salt Games are to be believed, their upcoming sinister fishing adventure game DREDGE will offer something different.
DREDGE is coming out this March 30 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox. Pre-order dates are set to be revealed soon along with the free demo for owners of Nintendo Switch.
The game is available for $24.99 on both Steam and consoles, with a Digital Deluxe Edition priced at $26.99 on both as well. In addition to the base game, the Digital Deluxe Edition comes with the Blackstone Key DLC item which gives players access to the mysterious workshop on Blackstone Isle.
Meanwhile, those who pre-order can receive the exclusive in-game custom fishing rod. This item gives players an upgrade to their starting gear which should help jump-start their career. For those wondering, a Physical Deluxe Edition will also be released with details to be announced at a later date.
In DREDGE, players take on the role of down-on-their-luck fisherman as they explore remote islands combing the surrounding islands and looking for different kinds of fishes and valuables. Once the trawler is full, players need to sell their spoils. Of course, they also have to complete quests and learn more about each area. To make the most of the journey, players have to reinforce not only their vessel but also skills and knowledge to reach more secluded lands and dredge deeper. Just be sure to keep an eye on the time since there are some things that lurk in the dark.
