For those wondering about the fate of Dying Light 2, developer Techland has offered an interesting update about the game's development. Surprisingly, the update wasn't announced on big social platforms but posted on the game's official Discord channel. Techland made a post on Christmas Eve telling fans that more Dying Light 2 details will come out in 2021.
The post included a screenshot that showed one of the game's characters standing on a statue donning a Santa Claus outfit. The post wished Happy Holidays to fans and added upcoming new updates for Dying Light 2 in the new year. Meanwhile, fans can enjoy Dying Light's new difficulty mode released in February 2020.
Earlier this year, Techland was hit with allegations on the game's development not being up to the mark. Given that the game was announced in 2018, it was disheartening to hear that Dying Light 2's development wasn't smooth. Meaning, the game would either be developed poorly or delayed until completed as intended. Gamers who care for the games they play would prefer a delay than playing an incomplete game.
Now, it's good to know that the development of Dying Light 2 hasn't come to a halt, and fans can expect exciting news in 2021. Since the game is being developed in the next-gen era, chances are, the developer may now choose to release the game on the newer consoles - PS5 and Xbox Series X. This could also mean that the developer may implement newer graphical technologies like ray-tracing to drastically improve the game's visuals. But we'll have to wait until Techland officially confirms new content and features.
Dying Light 2 is currently in development.
