EA Play, the company’s pre-E3 show, returns June 9 through 11. While we don’t have specifics, EA mentioned a handful of the games that will be on display, including Anthem and the next Battlefront. This information comes from a post on the official EA site.
The three-day event will be free for those who manage to get tickets. Tickets aren’t available right now, and EA says to expect them this spring. The company says there will be a new system in place to ensure more fans get access to games while at the event, so look for further news about this in the coming weeks.
EA has confirmed the “next Battlefield experience” will be playable at EA Play 2018, along with the typical line-up of new sports games like Madden, FIFA and NHL. Players will also have the opportunity to try out BioWare’s next game, Anthem. Other games confirmed for the event include The Sims 4, mobile games and “a few surprises.” We’ll probably have to wait for the press event that kicks off EA Play to know what those surprises will be, unless something leaks of course.
Speaking of the press event, it will probably be held when the event begins on Saturday, June 9 at 5 p.m. EST. It’s possible the press event will be held earlier and the hours given are for the show floor, however. If that is the case, the press event will probably be an hour or two before the show floor opens.
So, what could those surprises be? We know Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment has been working on a Star Wars game since at least 2016, and it might be time to roll out a trailer. EA has also revealed smaller indie-style games during previous EA Play events, so expect another one this year.
So what do you think? Are you going to try and get yourself a ticket to this year’s EA Play event? What game are you most excited to try out? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
