If you’re one of those who love trains, then it looks like you’re in luck as Train Sim World 2 is now available. Be prepared for new routes, an upgraded engine, and new features. Train Sim World 2 is available for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
For those who already have Train Sim World 2020, they can bring their existing Add-On collection to the game. In a statement, Dovetail Games Founder and CEO Paul Jackson said that Train Sim World 2 remains to be “the evolution of train simulation and I couldn’t be more proud of our team of incredible railfans who have made the dream of driving trains on a living breathing railway an authentic reality.” He went on to say that they have a lot releases planned for the future and that this game “is just the start.”
So what can players expect with Train Sim World 2? For one, everyone is sure to love the Immersive Gameplay. This simulation offers a new immersion controller scheme that ensures that important commands are available at the fingertips of the players. There’s also an improved HUD that ensures players are up to date with everything going on.
Another feature is the Scenario Planner, which is a new tool that lets players play Train Sim World 2 however they want. Players can choose the start and end points, along with what stations they want to stop at. Players can even choose what services to offer to their passengers.
Train Sim World 2 is also filled with Authentic Locomotives which features iconic locomotives for players to master. There’s the classic 1972 Mark 2 Stock on the Bakerloo Line, for example, along with the DB BR 406 ICE 2M and DB BR 442 “Talent 2,” to name a few. All of these have been officially licensed and have been recreated down to the very last switch and even fabric on the seats.
Players can even customize their locomotives with the new Livery Design. With this, players can come up with their own custom liveries for their locomotives and wagons. This in-game tool is easy to use and lets players craft simple or complex designs.
Another interesting new feature is Adhesion. With the game’s very own SimuGraph vehicle dynamics engine, players can now experience realistic adhesion physics for the very first time. For those not familiar, adhesion is about how the train responds to weather conditions, brake position, track grade, train weight, and throttle. This means being able to experience the train’s grip on the rails under different conditions.
In addition to the new features, there are also the new routes everyone can experience. There’s the Bakerloo Line which is in the heart of London’s busy underground commuter railway. For those who want a more scenic route, there’s the Sand Patch Grade which lets players see the Allegheny Mountains. Those who want some high-tech modern rails to ride can experience the thrill of the Schnellfahrstrecke Köln – Aachen.
