Hearthstone is celebrating its 10th anniversary this March 11. In anticipation of this upcoming milestone, all players are invited to be part of an in-game event which runs from February 27 to March 19. Those able to finish Event Rewards Track get to earn Golden versions of all the "Gift" cards along with a special Birthday Coin. On the day of the official anniversary, there's going to be a Legendary Quest available that when completed allow players to earn the 10-Year Anniversary Card Back.
The anniversary of the game also marks the start of the Year of the Pegasus. For this year, three expansions are planned to be released. For this year, a new Core Set update is being released which brings back some of the game's iconic cards. Some cards making a return include Leeroy Jenkins and Justicar Trueheart. There are also four new Warcraft Rumble inspired cards being added directly into Core Set which are Gnomelia S.A.F.E. Pilot, Warsong Grunt, Night Elf Huntress, and Footman.
New Keyword
Players can also look forward to what may be the most evasive keyword ever. That keyword is "Elusive." Minions with this keyword can't be targeted by spells or even Hero Powers. Several minions in fact are going to be updated to have this new keyword.
New Patch
All of these changes arrive to the game courtesy of Patch 28.6. Once this one goes live, players get to have 12 extra special card grants by simply logging in to the game. These card grants include one "Gift" card for each class and none other than the big man himself Harth Stonebrew.
Going through History
What else is happening? For March, players get to take a walk across the history of Hearthstone history but with a Twist. On March 1 for example, only Legacy is going be legal. Then on March 2 first infusion of cards, which is Curse of Naxxramas, is being added to the legal card pool. For March 3, prepare to experience Goblins vs Gnomes. Basically each day, the next infusion of cards are added until the entire history of Hearthstone is covered.
