Fall Guys has been out for only a week and has already become a massive hit. The game is now getting its first update, which includes a new level and several important bug fixes. Speaking of the new level, it is basically a level from the beta version that did not make it into the final product. The level is called Jump Showdown, and will be added to the Fall Guys level rotation tomorrow.
Jump Showdown is similar to Jump Club, in which players have to stand on a round platform and jump over sweeping beams. The longer you remain on the platform, the more difficult it becomes to keep up with the speed of the sweeping beams. In Jump Showdown, however, certain sections of the platform will continue to fall away with time, leaving very little space to hurdle around.
Fall Guys' official Twitter account also shared a handy video showcasing the level in play. Check it out below:
Additionally, developer Mediatonic is also implementing a bunch of bug fixes and quality of life improvements in the upcoming update, which include:
- Lowered the weighting for Royal Fumble to add more final round variation
- Fixed crash at launch with certain regional calendars set in the operating system
- Improved messaging for matchmaking and server errors
- Fixed physics behaving erratically at high framerate on levels like Tip Toe
- Fixed crown in Fall Mountain not being grabbable in rare situations
- Addressed some collisions in Block Party allowing players to bypass the blocks
- Fixed Parties sometimes failing due to too many requests
- Addressed some special characters causing display issues in player names
- Fixed Big Tease Achievement not unlocking in specific regions
- PC only - Fixed certain game controller models not being detected on PC
However, the developer hasn't mentioned any anti-cheat methods to prevent speed hackers in the game. We are hoping that Mediatonic will take proper action against cheaters before the player base grows agitated.
