The free Wastelanders expansion for Fallout 76 will be coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One on April 7 with new characters being introduced to the wilds of West Virginia. The update can be downloaded through Bethesda's official website, bethesda.net. Additionally, Fallout 76 will also be coming to Steam on the same day. Anyone that purchases either the standard or deluxe version of Fallout 76 will also get the Wasterlanders expansion for free.
The Wastelanders expansion introduces fully voiced NPCs, a brand-new questline, new enemies, new weapons, new locations, a new reputation system, and more. You can check the official trailer for Fallout 76 Wastelanders expansion below:

Those who haven't jumped into the wilderness of West Virginia can get the Wastelanders expansion simply by purchasing the base version of Fallout 76. Buying the deluxe version, however, gives you the Wastelanders expansion and as well as both the Raider and Settlers expansion.
As the Wastelanders expansion drops, the Tricentennial Edition of Fallout 76 will begin phasing out. However, players can still buy individual items from the Tricentennial Pack on an ongoing basis.
On the same day, both the standard and deluxe versions of Fallout 76 will arrive on Steam, including the Wastelanders expansion. Alongside the Steam launch, players can also purchase Atoms, a Fallout 1st membership, the Tricentennial Pack, and the Raider and Settler Content Bundles via Steam.
If you already own Fallout 76 on Bethesda.net, you won't be able to transfer Atoms or your Fallout 1st membership balance to the Steam version. Atoms bought for the game are exclusive to specific platforms. However, any items purchased through the Atomic Shop will be shared across both the Bethesda.net and Steam platforms.
