It's a bit of a bittersweet moment for anyone outside the U.K. and Germany, but otherwise, great news! The Fallout Legacy Collection has been officially confirmed by none other than Bethesda. The official announcement came after rumors of the Fallout Legacy Collection began circulating on the internet, sparked by a premature Amazon listing that showcased the item.
Now that everything's been confirmed, fans of the franchise can look forward to the Fallout Legacy Collection - a bundle of six Fallout games for PC. Although the collection will be available soon enough (in time for the holidays, according to Bethesda), it's going to be a difficult find considering the collection's limited release.
The Fallout Legacy Collection will bring together six of the franchise's most iconic titles into the ultimate Fallout gaming bundle, exclusively for PC. Included in the collection are the original Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics, Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition, Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition, and Fallout 4 Game of the Year Edition.
Although fans of the franchise (and there are A LOT of fans of the franchise) were initially excited by the news, much of the excitement quickly faded when Bethesda shot down any possibility of a worldwide release. Instead, the Fallout Legacy Collection will only be available in the U.K. and Germany.
Of course, if you've got the resources, it shouldn't be too hard (although it might be a little pricey) to get the Fallout Legacy Collection anywhere in the world. It's just a matter of taxes and shipping - which, depending on where you are in the world, could cost more than just a pretty penny.
That said, the Fallout Legacy Collection also has a confirmed release date, so mark your calendars if you're in the market for it. The collection will be available simultaneously in the U.K. and Germany on October 25th.
While the fans and the rest of the Fallout community on PC are still struggling to figure out why the Fallout Legacy Collection is only launching in the U.K. and Germany, our friends who played the Fallout games on consoles are asking "why only for PC?".
They're legitimate questions, Bethesda.
