The information about Far Cry 6, the upcoming Ubisoft game, has been scarce. Before being leaked via an online store, the game was officially revealed last year with a cinematic trailer. The trailer showed off its antagonist, Anton Castillo, who’s played by Breaking Bad actor, Giancarlo Esposito.
Yesterday, Ubisoft announced that the gameplay of Far Cry 6 will be revealed on May 28 at 12:30 p.m. EST. Let’s hope that this time it will be actual gameplay and Ubisoft won’t do what they did during Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Gameplay Reveal. I still get a good laugh about that.
You can watch the online stream via Ubisoft’s official Twitch, YouTube channel, or by revisiting this article. The 30-second Livestream Teaser trailer has also been released, which contains some good dialogues from the antagonist.
The official description of the game is mentioned below:
“Welcome to Yara, a tropical paradise frozen in time. As the dictator of Yara, Anton Castillo is intent on restoring his nation back to its former glory by any means, with his son, Diego, following in his bloody footsteps. Their ruthless oppression has ignited a revolution."
Along with the gameplay reveal, we can also expect the official release date of the game. Far Cry 6 was supposed to launch early this year, however, it was delayed to an unspecified date along with Rainbow Six Quarantine.
Some information about the technical aspects of the game was revealed last year. Far Cry 6 will support Ray Tracing, Variable Rate Shading, and Asynchronous Compute. It will also support AMD technology, FidelityFX CAS, which was seen in other high-profile games like Horizon Zero Dawn. Whether the game will support DLSS 2.0 is still yet to be announced. Far Cry 6 will also be less demanding than other Ubisoft games, such as Valhalla and Legion, but will likely run on 4K at 60 FPS on current-gen consoles.
