Final Fantasy 14 Online released its second patch for the Shadowbringers saga. Dubbed as Echoes of a Fallen Star, Patch 5.2 offers new adventures and challenging trials.
In the Shadowbringers expansion, players need to travel beyond Hydaelyn in order to save the world from the apocalypse. You can read more about that here.
There's no question that this latest patch brings a wide range of new content, which includes:
- New Main Scenario Quests
- Eulmore is on the way to a brighter future resulting in the Scions awaiting such time as the Exarch might return them home.
- New Raid: Eden’s Verse
- This is the second chapter in the eight-player Eden raid series.
- The raid features challenging new battles in both normal and savage difficulties.
- Eden’s Verse also introduces the character Gaia.
- New Dungeon: Anamnesis Anyder
- Form a party with friends and take the challenge head on. Players can also use the Trust system to tackle this challenge with non-player characters in your party.
- New Trial: Cinder Drift
- The Ruby Weapon is a symbol of how much the Garlean military technology has advanced. Players can take this trial in normal and extreme difficulties.
- New Beast Tribe Quests
- Disciples of the Land classes can now get new quests from the Qitari tribe.
- New Chronicles of a New Era Quest “The Sorrow of Werlyt”
- Discover the story behind this new quest series. It follows the Garlean Empire as they try to find a way to break the stalemate with Eorzean forces by releasing the result of its experimentation.
- Ocean Fishing
- This Fisher-exclusive content lets players board a ship at specified times and go fishing on the high seas. Players get experience and scrips that are based on the fish caught. Meeting certain conditions while aboard gives players the chance to score big.
Upcoming Changes
Square Enix announced that its next update is going to be Patch 5.21, titled Ishgardian Restoration Update. In this one, the Disciples of the Hand and Land are going to feature gatherer-specific content in the Diadem, high-level crafting challenges, and a new ranking system.
Patch 5.25, meanwhile, is set to introduce a new quest series with the “Resistance Weapon” Equipment Enhancement Quest Series: “Save the Queen: Blades of Gunnhildr”. This new quest series features regular updates from Patch 5.25 onward and allows players to get powerful equipment as they learn more about the Hrothgar homeland, the Bozja Citadel.
