Final Fantasy 7 Remake's exclusivity deal with PlayStation has been lengthened. Well, sort of. The game was supposed to launch on March 3, but was delayed as developers needed more time to polish the game. Now the hyped remake of Final Fantasy 7 will release on April 10. Square Enix has a one-year exclusivity deal with Sony, which means that for one year the game will only be playable on PlayStation 4. As Final Fantasy 7 was delayed, the end the date for exclusivity was also pushed back.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake will now release on other platforms on April 10, 2021. Although it is not mentioned which platform the game will be ported to, we think it’s a safe bet to assume that the game will launch on PC. The previous game in the franchise, Final Fantasy XV, was eventually released on PC after the console launch. As for an Xbox console or the Switch, we'll have to wait and see.
A few days ago, Final Fantasy 7 Remake also released a new theme song trailer, which you can watch below.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake is a complete reimagination of the 1997’s Final Fantasy 7. Everything in the game has been built from scratch. The game will use polygonal graphics rather than the pre-rendered environments used in the original. Just like the 1997 game, Final Fantasy 7 Remake follows Cloud Strife, a former Shinra soldier who fights as a mercenary for an eco-terrorist group known as Avalanche. Your mission is to stop the Shinra Corporation that is using the planet's life essence as an energy source. As the game progresses, you meet several familiar characters from the original like Barret Wallace, Tifa Lockhart, and Aerith Gainsborough, that will help you through your journey.
