Final Fantasy III: Pixel Remaster is a faithful remaster of the once beloved role-playing game. It features improved visuals and quality-of-life changes that make the game so much easier to play than the original.
Anyway, the game received Update v1.0.4 not long ago which brought more QoL improvements and bug fixes to Final Fantasy III: Pixel Remaster.
One of the things that you’ll notice is that the mini-map is now displayed at the top-right corner of the screen after moving to a new map. Furthermore, certain changes have been made so that weapons and armor are sorted into attack or defense power order when using the auto-sort function. This allows you to easily know which gear is best suited for each of your characters.
For visual improvements, the waterfall on the world map has been altered to make it look more natural. Besides that, a visual effect has been added so that the screen flashes whenever an allied character inflicts a critical hit.
In terms of bug fixes, the issue where progress would be blocked in certain conditions when using “Raise” or other similar abilities that have revive-type effects to kill enemies that split or multiply has been resolved. Besides that, the “Couldn’t Steal…” message that would pop up when trying to steal a second time from an enemy that had already been stolen from once will no longer appear. Instead, it is replaced by “Nothing to steal!” to signify that you’ve already acquired the item from that particular enemy.
Here are the other things implemented in Update v1.0.4:
- The controls when flying The Invincible have been changed so the cancel button now lets you descend (return inside the ship). This has been changed to prevent overlap with using the confirm button to go over mountains.
- The controls have been changed so that the Z key (LT button etc.) can also be used to talk to a guest character when one is accompanying the party.
- The default cursor position when selecting to stay at an inn has been changed to the “yes” option.
- The time taken when transitioning between screens after escaping from battle has been reduced.
- The command “Row” is now no longer selected when using auto-battle.
- The effect of a Knight’s “Guard” ability would also trigger for “Petrified” allies when close to death.
- After a Scholar had used “Alchemy” in battle, sometimes the same effect would also trigger when using items from the menu screen.
Final Fantasy III: Pixel Remaster Update v1.0.4 is available on Android, iOS, and PC.
