Looks like it's going to be an exciting year for Final Fantasy XIV Online players. This early, Squar Enix released new details of the upcoming Dawntrail expansion pack. Coming out in summer 2024, it's set to introduce to new jobs along with a new playable race. Of course, there are also other new content to be added.
For the new jobs, the first one is called as Pictomancer. A Pictomancer is a magical ranged DPS job who works in the medium of mixed aether and uses a specialized brush to bring their imaginings to reality. These creations are not limited to weapons and creatures but can even include landscapes. Since evoking these wonders take time, Pictomancers have instant-cast abilities and spells at the ready.
Meanwhile, the new playable race to be added is the Female Hrothgar. The Hrothgar are people who come from Ilsabard. The females of this race are few but can easily be identified through their lithe and muscular forms. Another unique characteristic is their predisposition for leadership.
Other new content arriving in this upcoming expansion are:
- New City: Solution Nine
- A city of towering facades constructed by an entirely different civilization than that of Tuliyollal.
- New Area: Heritage Found
- In this region that's overflowing with lightning energies, there are thick thunderclouds that blot out the sun with streaks of purple levin illuminating the land day and night.
- New Raid Series: The Arcadion
- A New Ultimate Raid: Futures Rewritten (Ultimate)
- New dungeons
- Expansive New Lifestyle Content: Cosmic Exploration
- New Field Operations
- New field operations similar to "The Forbidden Land, Eureka" and "Save the Queen."
- A New Limited Job: Beastmaster
Other Updates
Players can also look forward to the crossover questline with Final Fantasy XVI which is titled "The Path Infernal." It's scheduled to be released in early April of this year.
Meanwhile, the Open Beta Test of the Xbox Series X/S version is set to begin in February. With this, players on the Xbox family of consoles now get the chance to start their own adventure. official launch is in spring 2024.
Finally, Patch 6.55 is releasing on January 16. It's going to comes with a number of updates like the continuation of the main scenario in Growing Light – Part 2. It also introduces the next instalment of Somehow Further Hildibrand Adventures and a new trial which is titled The Gilded Araya.
Final Fantasy XIV Online is available for the PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
