It looks like the wait won’t be too long for Final Fantasy XIV players before they can enjoy new content. That’s because Patch 6.1 is launching on April 12. Lots of new content are heading to the game and these were revealed during a Letter from the Producer by none other than Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida.
By the way, when we say a lot of new content, we mean a lot. After all, it took two episodes of Letter from the Producer. Not to worry since we’ll give the rundown of Patch 6.1. For those interested, you can watch Part 1 here and Part 2 here.
New Content
Here are some of the new content arriving in Patch 6.1:
- New Main Scenario Quests
- Patch 6.1 marks the start of a new chapter for Warriors of Light.
- New 24-Player Alliance Raid
- The first part of an all-new original alliance raid series, Myths of the Realm: Aglaia challenges players as they learn more about the divinities known as the Twelve.
- New Tribal Quests
- Starting with Patch 6.15, players should be able to experience new Arkasodara tribe quests for battle classes and jobs.
- New Residential Area
- Plots in Empyreum, the new Ishgardian residential district, become available for purchase.
- New Trial: The Minstrel’s Ballad: Endsinger’s Aria
- Players can experience a new challenge with a new Extreme Trial, The Minstrel's Ballad: Endsinger’s Aria.
- Adventurer Plates (Beta Version)
- Player portraits can be customized to include lighting, animation, and camera angles using a character’s current appearance, and multiple portraits can be saved for future use.
- The character profiles can include information like favorite job and title, playstyle preference, and active playtimes.
Other New Features
Patch 6.1 also sees the return of the PvP gear inspired by the hit Japanese TV show GARO. Players can earn special mounts and gear modeled after the show, designed by legendary character designer Keita Amemiya.
The upcoming patch also serves as the launch of a new dungeon and Unreal trial, Ultima’s Bane (Unreal), as well as the new Unending Codex.

Art Book
The artbook titled Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker – The Art of Resurrection -Among the Stars- is coming out on September 13. This oversized full-color artbook contains artwork created during the development of Endwalker and features illustrations of the new jobs, sage, and reaper.
There are also illustrations of new locations such as Old Sharlayan and Radz-at-Han, dungeons, trials, and equipment, to name a few. It also has concept art, reference images, and messages from the artists to celebrate the conclusion of the Hydaelyn and Zodiark saga.
