Drive cars you’ll never be able to afford. Better yet, drive cars money can’t buy. Forza has brought fantasy cars to its roster before – the hero cars from The Fast and the Furious franchise, the “Warthog” from the iconic Halo shooter, and even a Hot Wheels pack. Last week, Forza Horizon 3 introduced another car – the Regalia of Final Fantasy XV.
The Regalia, owned by his majesty Prince Noctis Lucis Caelum, is the main mode of transportation for him and his friends Ignis, Gladiolus, and Prompto. Obviously, if the Regalia is a ride fit enough for a prince and his homies, it’s no Dodge Neon.
The hyper-luxurious Regalia is Square Enix’s take on the Rolls-Royce. At 21-feet long and seven feet wide, we’re looking at a private jet on the road. According to Turn 10’s official Forza Horizon 3 Regalia blog post, the sleek limo features a 7.2 liter supercharged V12 engine making 536 horsepower.
The team at Turn 10 truly managed to meticulously recreate every little detail of the Regalia from Final Fantasy, from the intricate retractable hard-top, down to the thin little wire spokes behind the giant hub caps of its giant 21-inch wheels.
What will also be interesting to see is whether Forza will also offer Regalia modifications from Cindy’s Hammerhead Garage, including the flying car. It’ll be breathtaking to experience FH3’s vivid Australian outback from the sky.
We definitely hope to see more fantasy or movie cars become playable in Forza Horizon 3. Personally, my shortlist will include the DeLorean from Back to the Future, the creepy Sweet Tooth ice cream truck from Twisted Metal, and Ghostbuster’s sweet Ecto-1 Cadillac.
According to Turn 10, theRegalia will be available to all Forza Horizon 3 players on Xbox One, Xbox One S and Windows 10 by Aug. 1.
