The DC TV lineup for Fall 2016
The DC TV lineup for Fall 2016 Warner Bros.

Supergirl prevents Lillian Luthor and CADMUS from deporting all the aliens in National City. Savitar’s wrath puts Wally and Barry in a life or death situation. The Legends have finally restored Rip’s memory and head to find Commander Steel and the last piece of the Spear of Destiny. Unfortunately, there was no Arrow this week.

Here’s our DCTV rundown of the week.

‘Supergirl’ Season 2 episode 15, “Exodus”

Rating B+

It was great to see Alex in the spotlight and Kara risk her job to do what she felt was right. On the other hand, the final scene where Supergirl stops the spaceship was a bit drawn out and didn’t sell me. This episode was more drama, less action. Snapper Carr always provides some much-needed comic relief.

Recap

CADMUS has already abducted 20 aliens. Kara really wants to warn the public about CADMUS’ plan to exterminate them all, but Snapper Carr won’t let her because her only source is Supergirl and the DEO, which is an anonymous organization. Kara leaves the office in a huff.

After an attack on the Supergirl casts’ favorite alien bar, Winn’s new girlfriend and a bunch of other aliens get kidnapped by CADMUS. Alex, still worried about Jeremiah even after he turned on the team, tortures a man to find out CADMUS location. J’onzz gives her a warning to change her behavior and visits her house disguised as Jeremiah to test her loyalty. When Alex fails J’onzz’s test by offering Jeremiah help, she’s suspended from the DEO.

Meanwhile, Lillian Luthor gives Kara the idea to post the CADMUS story on a blog, instead of CATCO magazine. Luthor also offers to help Kara find more evidence on CADMUS’ plans and to help find the location of the lab where her mother is holding the aliens hostage. But by the time Supergirl finds out the location, Alex is already there, trying to sway Jeremiah back to her side. Unfortunately, Lillian Luthor has already loaded the aliens into a spaceship to send them back to their planets. Alex begs Jeremiah to help her stop the spaceship from taking off, and he agrees.

But Alex can’t stop the ship in time. It takes of with Alex and the aliens inside and now it’s up to Supergirl to push it back to Earth. (Is it bad I kinda wanted Alex to end up in space?) Supergirl saves the day, but gets fired by Snapper Carr for publishing the CADMUS article to a blog and posting it onTwitter.

CLIFFHANGER: Teri Hatcher and Kevin Sorbo’s characters, who appear to be the leaders of Daxam, approach Earth in search of Mon-El. His secret will come out next episode.

‘The Flash’ Season 3 Episode 15, “The Wrath of Savitar”

Rating A+

This episode was one of the scariest ever on The Flash , and there’s so much action . Barry gets fatally hurt, stabbed right through the chest, which we rarely ever see. Wally is disintegrated into the speed force and Savitar is now free, preparing a war on Central City. The writers are also really not giving up on this “Future Flash” vs “Future, Flash” dilemma and it’s absolutely killing us.

Recap

Jesse Quick, Kid Flash and The Flash are all racing so Wally can get faster. Afterward, Barry and Iris announce their engagement to the crew but Joe is curious why Barry didn’t ask his permission first, like family tradition requires. Before Joe and Barry can really discuss, Cisco sends Barry and Wally out on a mission. They don’t get too far, because Savitar comes out of nowhere and tackles Wally. Barry is confused because Savitar isn’t there, it’s just Wally’s mind tricking him.

After Wally admits he’s been having visions for a week and Barry makes him leave Star Labs, Cisco agrees to vibe Wally to Iris’ future death so he can be better prepared for the final battle. After Wally comes back, he realizes the only reason Barry asked Iris to marry him was because he thought it would change the future. Wally immediately tells the team the truth and Iris is pissed.

The team decides they need answers so they hook Julian up to the machine that summons Savitar to try and find his location, but quickly realize the stone is gone and Savitar isn’t in the box they threw into the speed force. But Caitlin tells Julian she actually kept a part of the Philosopher's stone so that means Savitar could be on Earth. They hook Julian up the machine again to pinpoint Savitar’s location and figure out he’s somewhere in Central City.

Meanwhile, Wally sees his mother, who reveals herself as Savitar. He taunts Wally and says he has everything he needs to escape his hell, except for one small piece of the Philosopher’s Stone. Jesse Quick, watching this whole fake conversation, is very confused and goes and tells the team at Star Labs while Kid Flash runs off to protect the remaining Philosopher's Stone.

Wally can’t open a portal to the speed force because he can’t run fast enough. But after an intense conversation with Savitar, Kid Flash creates a portal to the speed force and throws it in but he gets sucked in. His Kid Flash chest emblem falls to the ground. But wait, the portal opens back up and Savitar crawls out and says “I’m free.” He reveals Wally has taken his place in the speed force, it’s apparently some old myth he learned about since he’s a god and all. The idea hit him because of flashpoint. "You gave me idea to turn Wally into Kid Flash and make him fast enough to place him in his prison. He never saw he was running right into the trap,” Savitar sayas.

The Flash and Savitar battle it out like grown speedsters. Savitar says, “If you could kill me, you would have done it in the future, but Barry Allen doesn't kill. I’m going to destroy this city like I did in the future, then you’ll treat me like a god. I am the Future Flash,” Savitar says as he stabs Barry through the chest and says he wants him to live long enough to see Iris die. Barry phases through Savitar’s sword-arm thing and runs away. Caitlin has to pull it out by hand back at Star Labs (definitely the worst injury on the Flash, like ever).

CLIFFHANGER: So Savitar calls himself Savitar, the God of Speed and Future Flash. Huh? Barry specifically asks Savitar, "Who are you?" Savitar straight up says, "Future Flash." Who is Future Flash in the comics? Read more about that here. Also, how will Barry save Wally? He'll attempt to enter the speed force himself, but the trailer for next week teases he'll cross paths with ghotsts of his past--Captain Cold, Firestorm, Grodd, and Eddie Thawne.

‘Legends of Tomorrow’ Season 2 Episode 13, “Land of the Lost”

Rating C+

We loved evil Rip Hunter while he lasted, but the Legends finally found a way to restore his memory. Rip Hunter’s ending scene with Gideon was by far the highlight of the episode. Aside from that, not much actually happened. Jax and Sara went inside Rip’s head, but the rest of the Legends storylines just seemed to wander around and not amount to anything besides a few funny moments with Citizen Steel and when Amaya talks to a dinosaur.

Recap

The Legends just have to find one more part of the Spear of Destiny, but Commander Steel has it and only Rip knows where Nate’s grandfather is. Evil Rip won’t tell Sarah Commander Steel’s whereabouts, because his mind was tainted by Reverse Flash. Evil Rip uses Gideon to escape his cell, he overrides the Waverider ship and steals the medallion that will help the Legends track down the Spear. The only way Jax can stop Gideon from following Rip’s order is to reboot the entire system but he has to shut down the entire ship, which means they crash land in the oldest destination Gideon has in the log where Dinosaurs are alive. Mick suggests cognitive intrusion to restore Rip’s mind, in the same way the Time Master’s brainwashed him to be Chronos. Every Time Master ship has the device, Gideon says, even though the not-evil Rip through the process was “barbaric.” Meanwhile, Amaya, Nate and Ray go on a search for a missing part of the Time Ship that’s keeping them in Dinosaur land. Jax and Sarah decide to go in Rip’s mind together. They find the good Rip trapped in a cell in the Waverider his own mind. They run into evil versions of themselves and the Legends team but thankfully encounter Gideon in human form, who helps navigate the ship and help fight evil- Firestorm and White Canary. Rip shows off some sort of air-blasting powers, the only way to defeat these fake-evil versions of the team. As Jax and Sara wake themselves up, Gideon and Rip kiss as Rip’s tainted mind collapses and restores to back to normal.

Roy, Amaya and Nate have now found the missing piece of the time ship, but it’s stuck in a nest of T-Rex eggs. The mother runs after them and Amaya uses her powers to talk the dinosaur down, which really turns Nate on. The two have been ferociously flirting all episode, even though Ray told Nate it’s not a good idea, because Amaya’s future not going as planned means Vixen is never born.

Back at the time ship, good Rip is back and officially meets Amaya and Nate. “I liked you better when you were killing people,” Mick says. Rip says he knows where Commander Steel is but the screen flashes to Eobard Thawne at NASA flight operations in 1970 before Apollo 13.
