The Flash Season 3 episode 11 will kick off a stream of action for Barry Allen and friends. On their quest to save Iris from Savitar, new heroes and threats will emerge. Here’s ten things you should be really excited about for the rest of the season.
GYPSY & VIBE
We’re really looking forward to seeing Vibe dressed in leather and in action. It’s been a long time coming for this meta, who at one point Amanda Waller called one of the most powerful hero ever with the ability to shut down the speed force using his sonic vibrations. It will be Gypsy, a villainous meta with similar psychic powers, who inspires Vibe to master his abilities. There should also be some good chemistry between the two. Cisco seems to have a thing for evil brown women.
KID FLASH
The yellow lightning streaks emanating from Kid Flash are growing stronger. Barry has finally come to terms with the fact Wally is going to be a hero and The CW has released a special poster: Lightning Strikes Twice. Get ready for more Kid Flash!
GORILLA CITY
We’re going to Gorilla City and Gorillas are coming to Central City. It’s a two-episode arc featuring Gorilla Grodd and his arch nemesis, Solivar.
“The team will go to Gorilla City. We’ll see where Grodd was sent,” Executive Producer Aaron Helbing recently told Entertainment Weekly. We’ll see his standing amongst the other gorillas. There are some sequences in the two episodes that are unbelievable. They’re epic and unbelievable in scale and scope. I’ve never seen anything like it on television.”
JESSE QUICK
Jesse Quick and the real Harrison Wells are coming back for a visit. Jesse was spotted all suited up in set photos with Vibe, Gypsy, Kid Flash and The Flash on set during the Gorilla Grodd arc filming. Wonder who’s the fastest now….
BLACK FLASH
Probably the most exciting spoiler so far is Black Flash’s future role on not only The Flash, but also Legends of Tomorrow . Looks like we’ll get to see the grim reaper of the speed force interact with both The Flash and Reverse-Flash. Hopefully he’ll do Barry a solid and just end Reverse-Flash once and for all, but because it’s The Flash, it probably won’t go down so easy. We’ve got some pretty crazy theories about how Black Flash can play into the Savitar arc. Read about what we think could happen here.
MUSIC MEISTER CROSSOVER
The Flash and Supergirl are crossing over for a special musical episode in March called “Duet.” Glee alum Daniel Criss has snagged the role of Music Meister. John Barrowman and Victor Garber from Legends of Tomorrow are also joining the party. Should be a lot of fun, even though Neil Patrick Harris isn’t involved.
EDDIE THAWNE
Rick Cosnett has been teasing fans with photos of himself on The Flash set, most recently outside of Jitters coffee shop. We still have yet to find out whether he’ll appear in flashbacks, present day, the future, or come back as a speedster like Black Flash or Reverse-Flash. Whatever the case, it’ll be great to see the Season 1 vet return.
FIRESTORM
Eddie and Ronnie Raymond returning can’t be a coincidence. If you remember all the way back to Season 1, or are familiar with Firestorm’s origins on Legends , you know how important of a role Ronnie played early on in The Flash . The last time we saw the character on The Flash , he was playing the villain Deathstorm. But statements from Robbie Amell in a recent interview suggested we’ll be seeing the supposedly dead heroic version of the character.
“I may or may not be alive,” he said according to ComicBook.com. “It was cool to have a real scene with Grant,” Amell said of the episode.
GOLDEN AGE FLASH
He’ll return in the latter half of Season 3 and his arc will “figure in more prominently,” according to actor John Wesley Shipp. No word on the next time we’ll see Jay Garrick, but lord knows Barry could use his help to figure out how to beat Savitar and learn more about the speed force.
ANOTHER SPEEDSTER?
Someone who looks a lot like Accelerated Man was spotted in set photos from December. The character is from Earth-19, the same place H.R. Wells and Gypsy come from on the show. If this guy appears, he’ll be the ninth speedster on the show…
That’s all we know, for now. The Flash airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on The CW.
