Update v20.00 for Fortnite’s Creative Mode is here, and it brings the biggest features introduced in Chapter 3 - Season 2. This includes Mantling, Sprinting, and Overshield, among many others.
New Features
So first, we’ll talk about Mantling. This new feature allows you to grab onto ledges whenever you’re swimming or jumping to higher ground. You do this by pressing the spacebar (default jump button) while you’re in the air.
Because the developers have increased the default running speed, they’ve made the sprinting speed faster. A sprint meter has been added to let you know how much longer you can run at that pace. Furthermore, you can perform a shoulder bash while sprinting to open doors.
Now, one of the things that made Fortnite unique is that you can build something out of the scraps you've picked up. You can create a structure to have a place to hide from enemy fire, for example. However, there’s a fundamental change in Chapter 3 Season 2 wherein building is removed from the core battle royale experience.
Instead, devs have implemented an Overshield, which will be the first one that gets depleted when you receive damage from foes. It also recharges on its own if it goes down to zero.
It is important to keep in mind that these new features are turned off by default to avoid disrupting the current gameplay. You can head to the “My Islands” settings menu to enable them manually.
