Fortnite’s latest update is out, and it focuses on game features. This update brings back the sideways weapons, introduces a cross-platform shared wallet, and much more.
Sideways Showdown Week
The Sideways event will stay vaulted for a while. However, the developers are bringing back the Sideways Rifle and Sideways Minigun for a limited time. These weapons will be accessible until May 24 and are scattered across the map in chests or randomly on the floor.
Upgrading the weapons isn't too difficult either. Just head toward an Upgrade Bench and make sure you have enough gold collected, then you can start upgrading the Sideways weapons. You need 375 Gold Bars for upgrading from Rare to Epic, 500 Gold Bars from Epic to Legendary, and 750 Gold Bars from Legendary to Mythic.
Shared Wallet
The Shared Wallet finally makes its way to PlayStation, which means the in-game currency can now be used across PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Android, and cloud gaming services. This makes it much easier to maintain the currency for players who like to switch between platforms playing Fortnite. Don’t forget to link your accounts to Epic Games Store to get full access to this feature.
Sad news for Nintendo fans as Shared Wallet is not fully supported for Switch. V-bucks purchased on the Switch will not appear on the Shared Wallet platforms and will be restricted to its own platform, for now at least.
Middle East Server Region Change
The developers made some changes to the networking options for the Middle East server. This change was done to make sure all players in the region get the most optimal ping. So, the server selection is set to automatic. Don’t worry, if you want to play in Middle East servers with your friends, you can still change it manually.
