Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator has released on Steam as a free download, so the moment Five Nights At Freddy’s fans have been waiting for has finally arrived. Yes, this is a pizzeria tycoon game at its core, but Five Nights At Freddy’s 6 is hiding underneath.
Without wading too far into spoiler territory, Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator adopts the gameplay of Roller Coaster Tycoon and blends it with standard Five Nights At Freddy’s elements. Before each night begins, players purchase new goods for their shop to increase customer satisfaction. However, the more you add to the shop, the more time you have to spend at your office terminal fixing issues with the equipment.
In true franchise form, it’s what happens in this vulnerable state that can potentially be the most terrifying. Animatronics can roam in off the street, and even your own purchases can start acting out of the ordinary. Luckily you’ll have a few security doors, sounds and other defense mechanisms to keep you protected. If these tools aren’t used wisely, prepare for the jumpscare of your life.
Hardcore Five Nights At Freddy’s fans will likely wonder how this new title contributes to the series’ established lore. We’ll probably discuss that stuff in more detail in the future, but the simple answer is that this entry just might be the single most important chapter to date in terms of larger story implications. Yes, there are new animatronics to play with, fun mini-games and humorous anecdotes, but the answers it provides form a central part of the experience. If you want to know more about the fate of Springtrap, the Aftons and the Puppet, Scott Cawthon doesn’t leave you hanging!
Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator arrives as the first and only Five Nights At Freddy’s game to release in the 2017 calendar year. While the project was originally teased and canceled as far back as June, the implication is that some of it was reconceptualized to add more depth. Previous teaser images in books like The Freddy Files still prove relevant to this new effort, so it doesn't appear that everything from that first idea was scrapped.
Regardless of how it was made, Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator both is and isn’t your typical Five Nights At Freddy’s game. With a free price tag, new tycoon mechanics and all those awesome jumpscares, this seems like a must-play for fans of the series.
Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator is available for free on Steam. If past history is any indication, mobile versions might release at a later date.
