While previous set leaks have hinted Daenerys will take King’s Landing and the Iron Throne in Game of Thrones Season 7 (we warned you there’d be spoilers), Daenerys will need a staging ground for her combination dragon/Dothraki army in the meantime. And now we have a picture of her first throne in Westeros: at her ancestral seat of Dragonstone, formerly held by Stannis Baratheon (RIP).
Published by Watchers on the Wall, the leaked set photos show both the throne room in the Red Keep and at Dragonstone. We may see Daenerys Targaryen, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Lady Regnant of the Seven Kingdoms, Protector of the Realm, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons, sit upon both of these seats:
Unfortunately, the picture Towey took of the Season 7 Iron Throne set isn’t available to embed on Twitter, so you’ll have to check it out on Watchers on the Wall. It’s not substantially different, except Queen Cersei has added a big Lannister lion. How long will she get to enjoy it?
Extensive filming for Game of Thrones Season 7 at Zumaia’s Itzurun beach in Spain suggest Daenerys may land ashore at Dragonstone and take back her ancestral home to use as a base of operations in her military campaign for control of the Seven Kingdoms. But whether or not she actually manages to take and hold the Iron Throne in Game of Thrones Season 7, Daenerys now has a throne in Westeros. After six seasons, it’s about time.
