Ghost Recon Breakpoint Episode 2 is officially here. Dubbed as Deep State, it brings two new Ghost classes, Operation Checkmate, and an all new eight-mission adventure. If that's not enough to excite you, maybe this announcement will: None other than Sam Fisher is arriving to give you that much need help. If you're not familiar with him, he's the main protagonist of Splinter Cell. If he's here, it means things are really serious.
Episode 2 arrives with Title update 2.0, which introduces two new classes. The first is the Echelon Class, which lets players sneak up on their enemies and eliminate them. The special abilities of this class include Sonar Vision, which not only detects enemies through walls, but can also disturb drones. There is also a Shock Pistol that takes out enemies quietly and temporarily deactivates drones.
The second is the Engineer Class, which uses a drone to attack nearby enemies with the Defense Drone ability. The Supply Drone, meanwhile, lets this class provide their partners with a magazine of high-end ammo.
These two classes are available in both PvP and PvE modes. They will be available exclusively for a week to those who own the Year One Pass. After that, both are going to be accessible to all players.
So where does Sam Fisher fit in all this? Players team up with him in the new campaign titled Operation Checkmate. In this one, the team goes after the sinister Strategist who not only has managed to control drones with his mind, but it appears he may have captured one of your squadmates, Midas.
The first mission, along with the rewards, are available to all players. However, the rest of the campaign is going to be exclusive to Year One Pass owners and UPLAY+ subscribers. Players also have the option to buy the mission separately. Players who don't have the campaign can still play alongside those who have it. The only difference is that they won't be able earn any Splinter Cell-themed rewards
The new update also introduces the Ghost experience. This is a feature that offers players a new way to play the game. You can read more about that here.
