WB Montreal's upcoming Gotham Knights recently released a gameplay reveal trailer. The developer also confirmed that the game will not be a part of the Arkham Universe. Now, we have additional information that the game will feature a full-blown open world. As the game will not feature the Caped Crusader, fans have been wondering what this new DC game will bring to the table. The Gotham Knights trailer and gameplay footage have had some mixed reactions from fans and at this critical moment, the game's creative director and senior producer have chosen to address some of the confusion.
Of course, many people were impressed to see Gotham Knights, but those who have stuck with the Arkham video game series have been doubtful about the game. Long time Batman Arkham fans are concerned about the Gotham Knights story and some of the design choices that the developer has made.
One of the major concerns about Gotham Knights is the leveling system for characters. Some players were worried that Gotham Knights will be level-gated like Assassin's Creed Origins and Odyssey. However, this is not the case. Creative Director Patrick Redding and Senior Producer Fleur Marty have confirmed that the game will not feature any level-gated scenarios and the open world can be explored without any restrictions. Nonetheless, fans are still concerned about the enemy-level system, which can be higher or lower than the player level.
Even though a few things about Gotham Knights have been clarified, fans still don't know a lot about the game. WB Montreal has yet to reveal what missions will look like, how the co-op will function, and what villains will be featured in the game.
