GTA Online is upping the stakes with what could be the game’s biggest update. The Cayo Perico Heist is not only going to introduce an all-new exotic location, but also bring with it a new approach to Heist design. This is also going to be the first time that players get the ability to choose between completing a heist solo or with a crew of as many as three players.
For quite some time, players have been given the chance to break a convicted spy out of Bolingbroke Penitentiary. Then there was the time when everyone was asked to save the world from what was clearly an egomaniacal tech billionaire. There was also a time when players had to drain a certain casino of its cash.
For The Cayo Perico Heist, everyone has the chance to take on an entire island. It’s not just an island, as there’s also a compound that’s owned by a rather notorious drug dealer in the middle of it that players need to infiltrate.
Considered as one of the world’s most secure private islands, it’s going to be a challenge to find a way to get inside Cayo Perico. Once inside, players can evade or neutralize the heavily armed security forces. After that, all that’s left is to escape with the valuable stuff like art, gold, and even drug money.
Weekly Update
The Cayo Perico Heist update may be a month away, but yesterday’s weekly update was a treat for players. Land Races and A Superyacht Life, for example, are handing out 3X GTA$ & RP. There’s also a bunch of events that are giving out double rewards like Gerald’s Last Play, The Diamond Adversary Series, and Running Back Remix.
GTA Online also gave an update to the Heist Challenge issued two weeks ago. The entire community was tasked to collectively steal GTA$100 billion. While that may appear difficult, turns out it was relatively easy for everyone. Why do we say that? Well, the collective total turned out to be GTA1$ trillion. As a reward, once the new update is live, everyone is going to get a special new vehicle. That’s not all as those who played during the week of the Heist Challenge also get a GTA$1 million bonus.
