We’ve been teased time and again about GTA V single-player DLC from the voice actors of the game’s main characters. While nothing has come of these previous teases, it’s time to once again get on the hype train (and probably get burned again).
As posted by Ned Luke, the voice actor for Michael, he is in a “Big Town” and waiting on Franklin voice actor Shawn Fonteno to land in an airport. Added at the end of the message is the hashtag “WhatNext.”
After the two reunited, Luke recorded and shared a video of the duo walking through the airport together. While I’m no expert on what LAX looks like, this could very easily mean the two will be in town for this year’s E3.
As previously mentioned, both Ned Luke and Shawn Fonteno have alluded to future GTA V content on social media. On more than one occasion, Fonteno has posted pictures to his Instagram account hinting that he was working on something new. Seeing as how these pictures are from years ago, nothing has come of them.
The last we heard from Luke on the subject was from a Facebook post from January 2016. Luke mentions he’s aware of the demand for single-player DLC, but he didn’t have any information to share at the time. It’s curious to note that Luke took to social media originally to squash rumors, but now is doing just the opposite.
While this all seems like some positive clues towards a big Rockstar announcement, don’t get yourselves too excited. Rockstar is currently hard at work on Red Dead Redemption and GTA Online DLC. There may even be a team making Bully 2, but that’s another rumor for a different article.
You’ll also notice that there are only two people in these messages. If there were to be a proper GTA V single-player DLC, you’d need Steven Ogg as Trevor. It’s possible Ogg is flying in separately or was already in Los Angeles, but you’d think Luke would mention him somewhere.
So what do you think? Do you believe these tweets are enough to start getting excited about an announcement from Rockstar? Do you think Rockstar has just moved on and we should too? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
