It was back in April when Hearthstone players were asked to take a Voyage to the Sunken City. From under the sea, everyone proceeds to the Shadowlands. The game's afoot so put on that detective hat and see if you can solve the Murder at Castle Nathria. This is the latest expansion coming on August 2 and bringing with it 135 new collectible cards.
What exactly is happening? You see, Shadowlands is usually the place where souls go when they die. That means when someone dies in Shadowlands, there's a mystery attached to it.
Elementary My Dear!
In this upcoming expansion, Sire Denathrius has invited 10 of his counterparts and enemies to a dinner party at Castle Nathria. He did this so he could address the malicious rumors going around that he is hoarding anima. Anima is the life energy taken from tortured souls and then used to power the Shadowlands. However, as the festivities started, Sire Denathrius was found dead.
It's now up to Murloc Holmes and his trusty sidekick Watfin to solve the case.
Solve the Mystery
Here are some of the features from this upcoming expansion:
- Ten Suspicious Suspects
- Sire Denathrius had a lot of enemies and 10 of them were under his roof at the time of his death.
- Each class is going to have a Legendary minion that’s a prime suspect in the murder.
- Everyone has the means and motive, and it’s up to players to help Murloc Holmes determine who is guilty.
- New Keyword: Infuse
- Cards with the Infuse keyword sit in the player’s hand and absorb anima from friendly minions as they die.
- After the specified number of friendly minions die while the Infuse card is in the player’s hand, the Infuse card transforms into a more powerful version.
- Don’t forget to Infuse cards to unlock their full power.
- New Card Type: Locations
- Explore the grounds of Castle Nathria with the new Location card type.
- Locations are played onto the battlefield for an initial cost, and then have an ability that can be activated for free on the player’s turns, each time for a powerful effect.
- Each activation costs 1 Durability and has a 1-turn Cooldown.
- Every class gets their own Location card in Castle Nathria which represents where they claim their suspect was at the time of the murder and synergizes with the themes of the class.
