There were a ton of cards unveiled on the Hearthstone Championship Tour stream on Friday morning. From giant plants to transforming blades, this reveal had some of the coolest cards of the set. Here are the first four cards revealed in the HCT Bahamas stream:
Vilespine Slayer- An Assassination on a 3/4 body, why not? You need to do something the same turn, so it’s a bit weaker than that spell, but makes up for it with stats. Unless you are killing a minion, you are losing out on some major value, so this angry plant is going to have to be used in the late game. If The Caverns Below decks start to take off, making use of Rogue’s quest to make every minion 5/5, Slayer gets even more value.
Mirage Caller- Priests love free minions they can buff with spells, and this troglodyte gives you a free 1/1. There are only a few minions left when this Standard Rotation switches that have effects that can benefit the Priest, Northshire Cleric and Auchenai Soulpriest come to mind. It’s a good card that gets 3/4 worth of stats for three mana, not too shabby.
Lost In The Jungle- A Silver Hand Recruit normally costs two mana from your Hero Power, this gives you two for half the cost. I doubt the card will see much play since it’s mainly just filler and the boring parts of Living Roots.
Mana Bind- I love this Secret so much, copying a Spell that then costs zero can be devastating. Opponent uses Swipe to clear your board? Now you have a free one in your hand to wreck whatever Jade Golems Druid has set up for you. It’s not going to replace Ice Block or Ice Barrier in Freeze or Reno Mage, but it might replace Potion Of Polymorph in decks that still use that gimmick card.
Here are the next four cards released and a very angry Brood Mother.
