The day has arrived for Hearthstone players to dive deep and take the Voyage to the Sunken City. This latest expansion adds 135 new cards, including a new minion type and a new keyword. Today, we'll take a look at some of the new content.
The first is the new minion type called Naga. These vengeful creatures are drawn to magic and have stronger effects when players cast spells as they watch from the players' hands. Included in this lineup are:
- Handmaiden
- Battlecry: If you've cast three spells while holding this, draw 3 cards.
- Commander Sivara
- Battlecry: If you've cast three spells while holding this, add those spells back to your hand.
- Queen Azshara
- Battlecry: If you've cast three spells while holding this, choose an Ancient Relic.
Colossal Minions
The new expansion introduces Colossal minions which are so big that they don't fit on a single card. Minions having the Colossal keyword have extra appendages which can synergize with the main body of the minion. The appendages are part of the Colossal minion and are summoned every time the main body is summoned, even if it wasn't played from hand. It should be exciting for players to know that each class has its own Legendary Colossal Minion.
New Keyword
The new keyword introduced in this expansion is Dredge, which lets players look at the bottom cards of their deck and choose one to bubble up to the top. Then, there are the Azsharan cards that put a more powerful “Sunken” copy of themselves on the bottom of the deck. It's exciting to see how players are going to use Dredge.
Rewards Track
Last week, a patch was released to the game as a sort of preparation for the arrival of this new expansion. One of the changes done was on the rewards track. With the expansion now live, players can expect to see new unlockable rewards.
There are two ways to get rewards: through the Free Track and Tavern Pass. The free Rewards Track includes packs from Voyage to the Sunken City, Standard packs, Tavern Tickets, a random Epic card, two random Legendary cards, a Murky Epic Mercenary Card, a Sunken City card back, and a lot of Gold. Read more about the Rewards Track here.
