Developer Tangentlemen released its new Here They Lie launch trailer on Wednesday. The first-person horror game Here They Lie will be one of the available PlayStation VR titles available at launch on Oct. 13.
“Here They Lie transports you to a terrifying world from which you cannot escape,” reads the YouTube description. “Explore a nightmarish city inhabited by strange, malevolent creatures in this ground-breaking first-person horror game on PlayStation VR.”
While it's exciting to see virtual reality arrive to Sony PlayStation in less than a month's time, I'm still not completely sold on the technology. iDigitalTimes got to test five new games for PSVR from developer Oasis, but came back mostly unimpressed.
"Ace Banana can suffer from control problems, with aiming not being very accurate," said iDigi's own Bob Fekete. "This is also a bummer, seeing as how you need to keep one arm outstretched throughout your entire play session, which becomes uncomfortable fast. Pixel Gear isn’t as taxing on your arm and the controls feel more finely tuned, but gameplay is still repetitive and pretty dull.”
However, if there's any genre that can truly benefit from the immersion that virtual reality provides, it will have to be Horror/Survival. If Silent Hill freaked you out, imagine the panic attacks you'll experience when the action is inches away from your eyeballs.
Here They Lie arrives digitally on Oct. 13 in North America and Europe for PlayStation VR. A physical release arrives in Europe on Nov. 2.
